Coffee vs weight loss

Is coffee really that good for your body? What about effects of coffee on your body? Lets find out! Read an article by Alica Heverova.

Not mentioning Capuccino, Caffé Latte, Mocha, Frappé and so on. Let´s talk about real coffee and not about some oversugared-full of fats-high calorie kind of coffee. That´s another type of a story which has nothing to do with loosing fat.

Lot of people drink coffee as a first thing in the morning. But is it the best choice?

Not really. Everything is associated with cortisol. Cortisol (often called the "stress hormone" ) is a steroid hormone which is released in response to stress and low blood-glucose concentration. It functions to increase blood sugar, to suppress the immune system, and to aid in the metabolism of fat, protein, and carbohydrates. Its excretion varies throughout the day, the highest levels of secretion are repeated up to three times a day - around eight o'clock, midday and about six o'clock in the evening.
How is it related to drinking coffee? According to a study from Psychosomatic Medicine (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2257922/) , caffeine has a negative effect on the excretion of cortisol. It sounds paradoxical, but scientists have found that drinking caffeine at a time when the body is naturally active will rather dull us than stimulate.
Are you asking why? Let´s take a look on Circadian Rhytm also known as your sleep/wake cycle. It would be a really long debate about this issue so just look at this picture and you´ll get it.

 Caffeine Increases Testosterone
“First coffee. Then Beast mode”

Timing before exercise is the key. To get the best performance at the gym, put a cup of black coffee thirty minutes before training. It will naturally increase your energy and you will get some more. You can have more energy to workout harder and longer, to burn more calories and to lose weight faster. Accoring to Circadian Rhytm is the greatest cardiovascular efficiency and muscle strenght right at 17 pm.
So when is better time to drink coffee then when your body has the best chance to take advantage of caffeine?

Drinking coffee after meal? Hell no !

Drinking coffee after eating is another common practiced badge. It is that caffeine contained in these beverages is bound to iron. As it´s known this slows down your digestion. And if your digestion doesn´t work as it should you have a serious problem and in that case you can absolutely forget about loosing weight.
Indigestion and heartburn are closely related. Caffeine-rich drinks make your stomach produce more acid and that leads to those kinds of problems. It is recommended to drink caffeine at least one hour before or after a meal.

Caffeine boosts your metabolism !

Ingesting caffeine jumpstarts the process of lipolysis, which is when your body releases free fatty acids into the bloodstream. This converts your fat stores into energy. That means you are burning fat.

Drinking coffee makes you less hungry

Drinking caffeine is related to the peptide YY ( known as PYY) which lowers appetite and food intake, perhaps by acting on neurons in the hypothalamus to help people feel full or satisfied.

Conclusion

All things considered, caffeine is a good servant but a bad master. One cup of coffee contains between 100-250 milligrams of caffeine. Consuming excessive amounts of caffeine (250-700 mg.) during the day can lead to anxiety, hypertension, insomnia and nervousness. All of those things that may trigger stress-related emotional eating. So let tghe caffeine to help you not to harm you. Be careful and wise. Only then you can be profitable. Good luck!
