Healthy Christmas treats

That amazing scent of cinnamon, honey and gingerbread inseparably belongs to the Christmas. It would be definitely a sin to don’t indulge oneself with Christmas treat, that we enjoy the most in a circle of our family. We realize the most what a power have words such as love, health, family and friends during the Christmas time. We often enjoy the good atmosphere so much that we don’t even realize Christmas is over and we’ve gained 5 extra kgs. Tasty holiday treats are real calorie and sugar bombs. But we are the engineers of your happiness. We don’t have to follow the herd and pig out ourselves with sugar and flour, do we?
Let’s sweeten the most beautiful time of the year with common sense and healthy body. I’m gonna show you some Christmas recipes, that will please your taste buds, but won’t ruin your figure. However, be careful when it comes to amount! These are definitely not zero calorie treats!!

Quick apple cake

Ingredients

  •  5-6 apples
  •  1 cup of millet
  •  4 eggs
  •  2 scoops of protein powder (vanilla)
  •  1 tbsp cinnamon
  •  1 tbsp gingerbread spice
  •  1 tsp cacao
  •  baking soda
  •  optional- nuts, raisins

Instructions Preheat the oven on 170 degrees. Grate 3 apples and other 3 cut into small cubes. Add cinnamon, gingerbread spice, cacao protein powder, baking soda, millet, 4 yolks and mix it all together. Than whisk egg whites and mix it into the mixture carefully. Put the baking paper on the sheet and pour the mixture on the sheet. Bake approximately 30 minutes.

Gingerbread cookies

Ingredients

  •  1 1/2 Cups Almond Flour
  •  3/4 Cup Tapioca Flour
  •  3/4 tsp Ground Ginger
  •  1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  •  1/8 tsp Ground Cloves
  •  1/4 tsp Real Salt
  •  3 Tbl Coconut Oil (melted)
  •  2 1/2 tsp Pure Maple Syrup
  •  3 Tbl Molasses
  •  1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the almond flour, tapioca starch, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Add the coconut oil, maple syrup, molasses, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and use an electric mixer until a thick dough forms. Combine the dough by pressing it together by hand, until it forms one large ball. Roll out the dough. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes. out gingerbread man shapes with a cookie cutter and place the gingerbread men on the prepared baking sheet. Bake gingerbread cookies for 10-12 minutes.

Gingerbread loaf

Ingredients

  •  1/4 cup coconut flour
  •  1/4 cup pudding – powder
  •  1/4 cup agave nectar (pure maple syrup may be substituted)
  •  1/2 cup cashew butter
  •  1 egg
  •  3 Tbsp molasses (unsulphered)
  •  2 tsp ground ginger
  •  1/2 tsp baking soda
  •  1/4 tsp Real Salt
  •  1/4 tsp nutmeg
  •  1/8 tsp cloves
  •  1 tsp vanilla

Instructions Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Shift together the coconut flour, arrowroot powder, baking soda, and Real Salt. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into 2 greased mini loaf pans. Bake 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Raw “pumpkin” balls

Ingredients

  •  ½ cup Cashews
  •  1 cup Dates
  •  ½ cup Coconut
  •  1 tsp chia seeds
  •  1 tbsp Coconut Oil
  •  1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  •  1 tbsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
  •  pinch of cinnamon and cacao

Instructions Place cashews and the pitted dates into food processor. Run the cashews and dates on low speed until the cashews are finely chopped, and the dates start to combine. After a minute or so, the date and cashew mixture will clump up, and start to form a ball. Add in the remaining ingredients, and continue to run on low speed or pulse until all of the ingredients are combined. Roll the mixture into small balls. You can cover it with cacao or ground nuts. Once you have rolled all of the mixture into balls, place in the fridge to firm until you are ready to enjoy.
